Digital postcards from the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, created in collaboration with a bot.

The project considers the mechanisms through which borders are constructed and maintained; and how they become visible or invisible to human and non-human eyes. A series of photos of the Irish border were presented to a deep-learning caption generator, asking it to describe their contents. Through the eyes of the machine, however, the border is too absurd to be noticed.
